Cork-based TV Production start-up, Great Island Productions, has launched a crowdfunding campaign through the UK-based platform, Crowdcube.
Jim Robinson PhD, COO/CFO said: "To date, we have attracted significant investment from both private investors here in Cork and Enterprise Ireland (who are the largest seed capital investors in Europe). Now we have decided to add a round of crowdfunding to our Angel and institutional shareholder group. In the coming weeks, we will launch a crowdfunding campaign with the number one platform Crowdcube to raise additional money to market our shows and speed up the growth of our business." He added "At this stage of the campaign, what we need is the support of friends and family and the local Cork business community. It does not require any actual investment, just a registration of interest in our campaign on the Crowdcube website, with a nominal proposed investment – say £50." "There will be no need to follow up – unless people want to invest, which would be welcomed."
