Commercial Edge for Managers - Webinar
Overview
Equip managers to think like business owners, focus on what drives value, and make decisive trade-offs that deliver results In this virtual Challenge Session, managers will practise tackling real-world situations where commercial impact is at stake. Scenarios include:
- Choosing which projects to back under budget pressure
- Balancing urgent requests against long-term priorities
- Making decisions with incomplete information
Using Sprintmodo’s Tangible Actions, participants will test how they currently respond versus how they could do it better, with proven, data-backed practices they can apply straight away. The session will cover three critical areas of Commercial Edge from Sprintmodo’s Leadership Performance SystemTM:
1) Commercial Mindset (how managers think about value)
- Understand how the company creates value (business model).
- Shift from functional success to enterprise success.
- Spot risks and opportunities beyond your silo.
- Link your work to commercial outcomes (revenue, profit, market share).
2) Prioritisation & Trade-offs (how managers choose what to do)
- Identify key value drivers in your context and align to them.
- Distinguish urgent vs important in daily execution.
- Make trade-offs under pressure (time, budget, scope, compliance).
- Use ROI/opportunity-cost basics to compare options.
3) Decision Execution (how managers move decisions forward)
- Clarify decision rights and roles (who decides, who inputs).
- Make timely calls with incomplete information.
- Balance speed vs certainty (e.g. one-way vs two-way doors).
- Take ownership and follow through once a decision is made.
 Learning Outcomes
- Shift from a functional to a commercial mindset in how they prioritise work
- Be able to identify value drivers and focus resources where they have the most impact
- Practise making confident trade-offs under real-world constraints
- Leave with 2–3 Tangible Actions they can implement immediately in their role
Why should I attend
Execution breaks down at the manager level when resources are spread too thin, teams lose focus, and projects stall. This session equips you with practical tools to close those gaps. This Challenge Session is interactive, scenario-based, and focused on learning by doing, so you leave not with theory, but with proven work practices to improve your impact as a manager.
