Cork Chamber is delighted to welcome today’s announcement by Apple of an additional 1000 jobs that are to be created by 2017 at its Hollyhill Campus, Cork. In welcoming the announcement, Cork Chamber President Barrie O’Connell, added, ‘it is truly a testament to the Apple team, the track record of the existing operation in Cork, the availability of a highly skilled workforce and the overall positive attributes of the region that Cork has been chosen by Apple as the location for a further 1000 jobs. The commitment of Apple to the Cork region since 1980 coupled with the vision of the local Apple management team to broaden its range of value-add activities over time sends a powerful signal internationally that Cork is a prime location for the growth and expansion of global business. The Cork region has also delivered for Apple, with significant support from IDA and Cork City Council, and is committed to continue to progressively support and facilitate a strong business environment ’.
The addition of 1000 employees by 2017 will significantly expand Apples’ Hollyhill Campus and in concluding, Cork Chamber President Barrie O’Connell stated, ‘this is an enormously positive indication from a global multinational in Apple and Cork Chamber is hugely supportive of this announcement’.
