CORK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT MR. BARRIE O CONNELL ANNOUNCES
“PLACIDO DOMINGO JR. IS COMING TO TOWN”

This week Fota Island Resort saw Cork Chamber of Commerce President Mr. Barrie O’ Connell launch ticket sales and make the announcement of the Artist Line-up for Amanda Neri – Ireland’s Bella Voce’s concert “A Christmas Affair” which is supporting - The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Mr. O’ Connell spoke of the “importance of the International flavor of Amanda Neri’s classical profession as culture is very important to Ireland and in that regard the opera singing that Amanda promotes is super. City Hall is a fantastic venue and Sunday the 6th of December is going to be a huge day as it is getting right into the Christmas season and the positivity of this event will add something new and different to the City”

Mr. O’ Connell continued to say that “Cork has many great things about it, talented students, and a University City that has many advantages, one of the biggest things to differentiate Cork is our quality of life, its sporting events and the arts, the breath of the quality of events in the arts is fantastic and to have someone like Amanda demonstrate the quality of the International flavour that she is bringing to Cork is very integral to the City.

Cork Chamber is delighted to be involved today and when Amanda explained what her company AJN HQ LTD is aiming to achieve, I suppose this is what we the Chamber are also trying to get companies to do, which is to aim to create economic activity.

At the scale that this event is at, the Concert “A Christmas Affair” is going to create not just what goes on in City Hall on the 6th December but what people will do around that, whether it be in the hotels and restaurants or people coming in from nearby for accommodation and shopping its all good for the Cork region and that’s why we want to support this event in whatever way we can, The Chamber is delighted to be behind this and note it is great to see sponsor representatives From Fota Island Resort, Keary’s BMW, Port of Cork here today.” Also, it’s wonderful to see this event supporting The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Mr. O’ Connell described Amanda as a “seriously creative entrepreneur who has adapted what you do into a business context and that is one the reasons the Chamber is behind you”
