The Skies the Limit for Cork Airport

Cork Chamber strongly welcomes today’s announcement by Cork Airport and Norwegian Air International of exciting new routes from Cork Airport to the US, including Boston from May 2016 and New York by 2017, providing direct year round connectivity.

Commenting on the announcement, Conor Healy, Cork Chamber CEO said “This is undoubtedly a defining moment for Cork airport and the entire Cork region, and is great news not only for the Cork business community who will have direct air connectivity to the US, but also for the opportunities which this now presents for business and leisure tourism opportunities to the southern part of our country”.

“Boston and New York ranked in the top five US business destinations by Cork Chamber members and so we are encouraged to see the realisation of these routes and are confident of the possibilities that these latest additions to the Cork Airport route map will enable. It is essential to acknowledge the ongoing work of the Cork Airport management team in promoting the Cork and greater South West region on an international platform and for their engagement with local stakeholders in shaping the future strategic direction of the airport which compliments and works to facilitate the ever growing international visitor market and the region’s transatlantic business market. Also the addition of the new Cork to Barcelona service planned from May 2016 will enhance the European service offering from Cork Airport”, concluded Mr.Healy.
