Overview

The Leading with Emotional Intelligence programme provides participants with the understanding and capability to develop their social and emotional skills, thereby advancing their ability to influence others towards achievement of high levels of personal and professional effectiveness.

Objectives

Participants who complete this programme will:

Recognise the impact of emotional & social awareness on work processes and relationships

Identify how the key functions of leadership are enriched through the application of emotional and social effectiveness techniques

Understand Emotional Effectiveness Competencies and how to develop them

Align emotional effectiveness competencies with leadership functions, using the EQi-2.0 Leadership Report

Understand how to create a workplace culture that delivers performance results through effective relationships

Be in a position to lead more emotionally effective teams

Use emotional effectiveness to advance personal development, improve work relationships, and contribute to significantly enhanced business outcomes

Build a developmental action plan designed to strengthen personal emotional effectiveness

• Understanding the emotional brain
• Defining Effectiveness and its impact on effective leadership
• Understanding the workplace impact of behavious and emotions
• Understanding role of social engagement in impactful leadership
Understand the Emotional Awareness Framework

• Defining Emotional & Social Intelligence (EI)
• Understanding the business case for EI
• Introducing the EI Competency framework
• Exploring the link between EI competencies and leadership

Have gained personal insight through the EQi-2.0TM Assessment Process

• Presenting the EQi-2.0TM results
• Exploring your individual strengths and areas for enrichment
• Selecting development areas for enhancing your emotional effectiveness
• Addressing personal responses to the assessment process

Have developed their individual Emotional Leadership Capability

• Developing Self Understanding
• Developing your capacity for effective Self Expression
• Exploring your individual awareness and engagement potential
• Developing your influencing skills
• Becoming more resilient
• Developing your teamwork and collaboration potential
• Advancing your decision-making and conflict handling capability

Entry Requirements

Participants should hold a FETAC Level 5 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences.

Some experience in managing people and work performance an advantage

About this form

The purpose of this booking form is to gather profile information about participants on programmes funded by Skillnets from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education & Skills (DES). Only aggregated participant data will be reported to the DES. Separately, Skillnets will inform the Department of Social Protection (DSP) about the attendance of individuals in receipt of income support from DSP on short courses (i.e. 20 days or less). This is part of an arrangement with the Department, which supports the participation of its clients on Skillnets programmes.
