Overview

These four days, comprising in total of 8 modules on Digital Marketing/Social Media will greatly impact on how your business sees and uses digital/social.

Each of the four days comprises of modules designed for businesses to get the most value of online marketing and communications.

The modules have been designed by the Cork Chamber of Commerce from feedback of their members and with the trainer Damien Mulley, who has several years of experience in digital marketing. These modules are practical and use of a laptop is greatly encouraged so you can make changes to your digital marketing during the course itself.

After completing 7 modules, your final module is tying all you have learned together to build a digital marketing plan/strategy. After attending this course you will be able to increase traffic to your website, convert more website visitors into customers, use social media to generate sales and/or build a positive reputation, be mobile ready and aware and be able to evaluate future technology and marketing techniques.

All four days can be booked in one block by members for €480 or individual days can be booked for €150 each. To book an individual day please contact aoife@corkchamber.ie.

The non-member price for all four days is €590 and €180 for each individual day.

Who Should Attend?

This course is for any business that wants to reduce marketing and sales costs, that wants to get more business using social media and wants to reinforce their offline reputation, online.

Those in marketing, communications, sales and company positions that define business strategy should attend this.

The course will cover the following:

Day One
- Search Optimisation, website conversion and web traffic tools and targeted Advertising with Google, Google Analytics and creating landing pages
-Video Marketing

Day Two
- Content Creation: Using a blog or your website to create attractive content
- Facebook for Business: Using Facebook Pages to market to their Billion+ users

Day Three
- Twitter for Business: Using Twitter for sales, support and marketing.
- Linkedin: Using this business social network for lead generation and building the reputation of your business

Day Four
- Mobile Future: Should you create an app? What is the work involved. Getting your company ready for the mobile revolution
- Devising a Marketing Plan: Creating a template for your company to be efficient in digital marketing

Schedule

Day One

Google Analytics, search Optimisation, website conversion and web traffic tools

Takeaway: After doing this module you will be empowered to greatly increase traffic to your website and how to turn more of this traffic into customers.

Google and other search engines bring up to 80% of traffic to most websites. Being found on Google for multiple search phrases is of vital importance. In this module we will go through all the techniques that you can do to make sure you rank higher in search engines and get high quality leads coming to you from search engines.

Objectives:

Those that attend this module will understand how search engines work, will learn how to make small or large changes to a website to increase traffic to a website and come away with a plan on how to make their website get more visitors for keywords and phrases that they specify.
Targeted Advertising with Google and creating landing pages

Takeaway: After doing this module you will know be able to use paid marketing to increase traffic to your website and be able to create specific pages to make these ads cheaper.
Google and Facebook advertising can be used to supplement the traffic that comes organically from search engines. With good targeting you can generate even more leads to your website. The best advertising is price conscious and brings visitors direct to your offerings and should enhance website traffic, not be the main focus of your marketing drive

Objectives:

Attendees will see the benefits of taking out advertising online as well as the practicalities of executing targeted ad campaigns with specific budgets.

Video Marketing

Takeaway:There are 10 billion videos auto-played on Facebook every day. Facebook gives priority in timelines to video content above other content. YouTube has 1 billion monthly users and is the second biggest search engine in the world after Google. Putting video content on YouTube is good for awareness but also good at generating search traffic to you. Instagram will have nearly a billion monthly users by 2018, currently it has 700M users with 500M daily users. Video is vitally important to share information on Instagram too with both the Instagram timeline and Instagram Stories using video.

Objectives: The objectives of this module are to introduce the group to the possibilities of video for their businesses. To communicate how video is becoming crucial if a company wants to market online. To look at ways of producing video on limited budgets and time and to optimise your videos to get the best return on investment.

Day Two

Content Creation: Using a blog or your website to create attractive content

Takeaway: After doing this module you can write for your website and for social media and increase traffic to your website and click throughs from the likes of Facebook and Twitter.

This module will cover the positive effects of companies blogging which include more quality website traffic and reputation building. Good blogging is about focused content creation and we’ll go through how to match your business objectives with blog posts. Companies don’t need a blog or want to start a blog for this module to be of benefit as creating any content on a website is covered here.

Objectives:

With this module completed attendees will know why blogs are good for a business and will be able to build a plan for their business blog that will increase traffic and leads to their website for particular topics that they specify.
Facebook for Business: Using Facebook Pages to market to their Billion+ users

Takeaway: After doing this module you will increase the number of Likes on your Facebook Page, reach more people in every update you do and use Facebook to get more traffic to your website
Facebook is the most popular social network in the world with over 1.2 billion monthly users and Facebook has designed their service to be a place where companies can do business through the likes of Facebook Advertising and Facebook Business Pages.

In this module we will examine how any business can use the tools that Facebook provide as a marketing and acquisition tool and how to set your business up on Facebook. We will also look at how to analyse progress on your Business Page.

Objectives:

After completing this module attendees will know how Facebook works, will be able to update or start a business presence for their company and will be able to implement a plan that will increase their Facebook subscribers and then use them to gain business or increase their profile.

Day Three

Twitter for Business: Using Twitter for sales, support and marketing.

Takeaway: After doing this module you will increase the number of followers you have on Twitter, find the right people to connect to and write updates that can get you more business such as more sales or spreading the word of what your business does
Twitter, the most hyped piece of technology is a bit like a severely stripped back and more public Facebook where people as consumers and as representatives of companies interact with each other. Twitter is the equivalent of one long networking event. Twitter is a good tool for doing business, if done right. We’ll go over setting up Twitter, how to add friends and colleagues and the toolset of it.

Objectives:

Attendees will know how Twitter works, will be able to set up a business profile, will know how to gain followers and use the reach of their followers to get direct business or increase awareness of their brand.
Linkedin: Using this business social network for lead generation and building the reputation of your business

Takeaway: After doing this module you will connect to more people in the right positions in a company and you will increase the amount of contacts you get from LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a social network for business people to connect with other business people. It’s B2B focused unlike most other social networks that are B2C. We will go over creating a business profile and what aspects are most important before going through tools on LinkedIn that allow you to seek out potential business partners and leads.

Objectives:

On completion of this module attendees will have improved their LinkedIn profiles, will know what keywords to use, how to use their profile as a calling card for their work and how to use their network of contacts to get more leads and business.

Day Four

Mobile Future: Should you create an app? What is the work involved. Getting your company ready for the mobile revolution

Takeaway: After doing this module you will know whether and app is right for your business, know the resources needed for creating an app and you will can enact changes to your website to make the site better for mobile web users who will make up 60% plus of your website visitors by Dec 2014
With leaps in adoption of smart phones in Ireland and unofficial figures saying there’s 400k iPhones alone in Ireland, mobile is starting to make an impact in marketing. While mobile has always been classed as the next big thing, Twitter usage, Facebook usage and location aware apps are now becoming areas of big interest. This module will look at Irish examples of mobile apps, of “traditional” mobile marketing and marketing using location services.

Objectives:

On completion of this module attendees will have improved be familiar with mobile apps, the work involved in commissioning them and Irish examples of them.
Devising a Marketing Plan: Creating a template for your company to be efficient in digital marketing

Takeaway: After doing this module you will plan a digital marketing strategy so your business can get more business online and offline
Taking everything we’ve learned from all the other modules we’ll design a marketing plan that incorporates SEO, buying ad placements, designing blog content, Twitter and Facebook content to push your messaging and generate business.

Objectives:

Attendees will know how to create a marketing plan for their social media properties and can devise one based on the resources available to them in their company. The plan will be a timeline of content to be produced and set live on their blog, Facebook, Twitter etc

About this form

The purpose of this booking form is to gather profile information about participants on programmes funded by Skillnets from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education & Skills (DES). Only aggregated participant data will be reported to the DES. Separately, Skillnets will inform the Department of Social Protection (DSP) about the attendance of individuals in receipt of income support from DSP on short courses (i.e. 20 days or less). This is part of an arrangement with the Department, which supports the participation of its clients on Skillnets programmes.
