Cork's 96FM unveils brand new studio

Cork’s most listened to radio station, Cork’s 96FM, has unveiled a brand new digital on-air studio. It was officially opened today (Tuesday 23rd June 2015) by the Chairman of UTV Media plc, Richard Huntingford. UTV Media
owns Cork’s 96FM as well as it’s Cork-based sister station, C103.

Mr. Huntingford was in Cork along with the other directors of UTV Media plc for their board meeting which was held at 96FM’s Broadcasting House for the first time. Chief Executive of Cork’s 96FM & C103, Kieran McGeary said “the significant investment in this new studio underpins our ongoing commitment to continue providing the people of Cork with the best possible service. This studio future proofs our radio station for many years to come.”

Speaking to staff at the official opening, Richard Huntingford said he and his fellow directors were delighted to be visiting Cork. “Cork’s 96FM’s Broadcasting House is a lovely building and is a wonderful location for a
radio station. This new studio is the icing on the cake. I wish all staff who will use it, continued success”, he said.

The new studio was designed by Broadcast Technical Services (BTS) and 96FM’s in-house technical team of John Cahill and Kyrl Cahill.
