Exciting new Cork to London City Airport Cityjet route announced

Cork Chamber is delighted with today’s announcement by Cityjet of their new Cork to London City Airport route.

Commenting on this announcement, Cork Chamber President, Barrie O’Connell, stated that “the launch of this new route option to London will further enhance the regions connectivity and strengthen the breadth of connectivity options available to and from Cork and the entire southern region. This new route will give business and tourist travellers the opportunity for increased access to and from the very centrally located London City Airport”.

Mr. O’Connell added that “this addition will bring positive benefits to the region and is of significant importance in developing the route network at Cork Airport. Cork Airport should be commended for their ongoing efforts and commitment to attracting and developing such routes and in doing so facilitating the ongoing economic development of Cork and the wider region. It is important that this key route is now supported by the local business community to ensure this is a successful route”.

Cork Chamber through engagement with Cork Airport highlighted the demand by Cork businesses for the addition of this route which was indicated via previous air travel demand surveys conducted by the Chamber.
