Cork logistics firm O Connell Group Receive Gold at theDeloitte Best Managed Companies Award Ceremony

Cork logistics firm O Connell Group Receive Gold at theDeloitte Best Managed Companies Award Ceremony

O’Connell Group has received Gold Standard, for the fourth consecutive year, as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ Companies in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme. O’Connell Group was first recognised as a Best Managed Company in 2012. The company was recognised at a gala awards dinner in the RDS in Dublin recently after demonstrating superior business performance. Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD was special guest speaker at the event.

The Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, in association with Barclays Bank Ireland recognises indigenous Irish companies across the island of Ireland which are operating at the highest levels of business performance.

Commenting on the award, Paul O’Connell, of O’Connell Group said: “This award is testimony to all the hard work and dedication of our employees over the last three years since the program for continues improvement started. We would like to thank Deloitte and Barclays Bank Ireland for the extra special recognition of awarding us Gold Standard in what is a highly competitive services sector.”

Commenting on this year’s programme, Managing Partner of Deloitte and judging panel member; Brendan Jennings, said, “Our congratulations to all those companies celebrating their Best Managed status. In working closely with these companies for the best part of a year, it’s clear to see why they are being recognised as Best Managed specifically their defined strategy which is clearly communicated and executed, a belief in innovation in products and practices as a cornerstone of growth, a recognition of the importance of R&D spend and an intuitive understanding of their marketplace.”

Head of Large Corporates for Barclays Bank Ireland, Helen Kelly added, “Success is not just about the strength of a company’s management team but how their strengths are leveraged to maximise that company’s potential and this is something that we at Barclays have witnessed over the past few weeks and months in working with each of these best managed companies.”
 

O'Connell Group, one of Ireland leading logistics companies, was established over 45 years ago to provide integrated solutions for its various clients across a wide spectrum of industries in the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Food, Drinks, and Computer sectors.
