Seeing double - Cork International Hotel scoops two national awards

Cork International Hotel, currently ranked on Tripadvisor as one of the best hotels in Cork, has won not one, but two national awards in as many weeks.

The hotel’s ‘New Yorker Bar’ was named ‘Hotel Bar of the Year’ at the National Bar Awards, hosted by Anton Savage at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Dublin on October 28th. Celebrating excellence within the industry, 23 awards were presented to the winners who were judged by an expert panel of industry professionals, training and service experts and food and tourism representatives.

The judges’ feedback on the ‘New Yorker Bar’ was that “This hotel bar is a rare find. The food is fantastic, the design is stylish and the service is impeccable. This all contributes to a fantastic atmosphere and makes this bar a worthy winner for this category.”

At the National Hospitality Awards, in association with Hospitality Ireland magazine, Cork International Hotel walked away with the accolade of ‘Best Value Hotel’. The awards on November 4th, took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin, where some of the most prominent global names in hospitality spoke to a packed audience.

Aaron Mansworth, General Manager of Cork International Hotel proudly collected the awards which he said would be so appreciated by all of the hard working team at the hotel. He said “We have a dedicated team at Cork International Hotel, and each member plays an important role in our success. It is the people behind the scenes, as well as those that meet our guests on a day to day basis that deserve the recognition these two most recent awards afford us. I would like to thank and congratulate our entire team.”

The hotel, which is also recognized as one of Cork’s most stylish hotels, recently underwent a €1 million refurbishment of its bar and lobby, and now offers a range of guest facilities including the newly opened Pacific private dining area and the Atlantic Restaurant.
