Anne Walsh Appointed as Director of Nursing at Mater Private Cork

Anne Walsh has been appointed Director of Nursing at Mater Private Cork, who recently announced they were more than doubling their workforce over the next two years, as part of a €70million investment in the 75-bed facility at City Gate, Mahon, Co. Cork.

Anne, originally from Macroom in Co. Cork, now lives in Killarney with her husband and 2 children. She trained as a Registered Nurse and Midwife in Cork and studied post-graduate courses in the University of Limerick, University of Ulster, and Huddersfield University in UK, and was most recently awarded with a Masters Degree (MSc) in Health Services Management from Trinity College Dublin in 2011.

Anne brings with her a wealth of clinical experience from Ireland and the UK and has a specialist interest in critical care nursing. Anne has worked in several senior nursing posts in Ireland and the UK, including a senior research post with the Department of Haematology and Oncology in the University of London and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, and in Head of Nursing and Clinical Services posts in the UK. This experience makes her a great asset to the Mater Private Cork team.
