After an absence of just over a decade, Tudor watches return to the UK & Ireland in September 2014

TUDOR is a premium Swiss watchmaking brand appealing to people with an acute sense of style, a desire to be different and uncompromising quality expectations.

The origins of the brand date back to 1926, when ‘the Tudor’ was first registered on behalf of the founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf. He created the company Montres TUDOR SA in 1946 to offer watches with the quality and dependability of Rolex, but at a more accessible price point. As a result, Hans Wilsdorf envisioned 60 years in advance what is known today as accessible luxury.

As it evolved, the TUDOR brand produced watches that differed from Rolex in their appearance and functions. This path of differentiation and development of a characteristic retro-chic style has led to the distinct TUDOR product identity of today: it is complementary to Rolex and appeals to a different customer group and market segment.

TUDOR watches are 100% Swiss made offering matchless value for money in the €1,770 to €5,090 segment. From September 19th they will be available from an exclusive network of Official TUDOR Retailers including Keanes Jewellers Cork.

Distinctive features of TUDOR watches include:

• Unique materials for the straps such as high-quality artisanal fabric straps, Alcantara, aged leather and rubber, which give the watches an edgy and singular appeal and contribute to the pleasure of wearing them
• Unique materials for the case, bezel and bracelet such as titanium and high-tech monobloc ceramic
• Unique features such as the Advisor’s alarm clock mechanism, developed and patented by Tudor, and the Grantour Fly-back Chronograph function
