Cork Chamber congratulates SouthWestern on their acquisition by Capita PLC

Cork Chamber today congratulated SouthWestern and its management team on the successful acquisition of the Cork based company by Capita PLC, a world leader in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.

Gillian Keating, Cork Chamber President, said 'This development for South Western comes on the back of their recent announcement of 260 new jobs and shows the potential in the BPO sector for continued economic growth and development and a strong sign of the enabling environment that now exists for job creation in the Cork region.'

Ms. Keating continued, ‘Our recently published Economic Trends Survey shows in terms of employment growth that the news is positive with 40% of businesses reporting increases in employee numbers over Q2 and 40% anticipating further increases over the next quarter. Announcements like todays by South Western highlight how Cork is providing an attractive and conducive environment for business development and economic growth.’
