Cork Chamber Chief Executive Conor Healy today warmly welcomed the positive economic news for Cork which saw the launch of a €30 million Irish Photonic Integration Centre, led by Tyndall National Institute in collaboration with UCC and CIT, in addition to the creation of 40 positions as well as 65 construction jobs at BioMarin Manufacturing Ireland in Ringaskiddy.
Commenting on the excellent news, Mr. Healy stated that, "Today’s announcements provide further compelling evidence of the region’s capacity to attract investment and clearly positions Cork as a location of choice for industry and research requiring high skills levels and an enabling and facilitative business environment. The news also showcases once again that the Cork region is a great place to live and work”.
“We hope that today’s announcements will provide a further boost to the positive economic sentiment and business outlook for 2014 as revealed in the Chamber’s latest economic trends survey”, concluded Mr. Healy.
