We have a fantastic opportunity for you to win a visit from George Hook to your business next week!
George will be broadcasting with Newstalk from Opera Lane in Cork next Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th November for Breakthrough Cancer Research (who fundraise for Cork Cancer Research Centre).
They have been chosen as one of 3 charities for Electric Ireland’s Powering Kindness campaign, which encourages the public to do an act of kindness for one of three charities from 2-8 Nov. The charity will the most good deeds banked in their name will receive a donation from Electric Ireland for €50,000 with €30,000 and €20,000 for the other two charities.
George Hook is getting behind Breakthrough Cancer Research and hopes that businesses in Cork will do the same.
He will visit the business in Cork with the best good deed banked for Breakthrough Cancer Research and will do a good deed for you in return – whether he washes your windows, serves behind your bar, or sells for you!

Text ‘Breakthrough’ followed by the name of your business and your good deed to 53106 or tweet your good deed and include @ghook @BreakthroCancer #poweringkindness from 4-7 November. Text lines remain open at all times during those days so you can text at any time.

1. Give your staff an extra 10 minute break
2. Leave a simple note of encouragement in the staff room that will make everyone smile
3. Give someone random a free item
4. Clean your neighbouring businesses windows
5. Pay everyone who walks into your premise a compliment
6. Deliver baked goods to local hospital/Garda/Fire department
7. Pick up the litter on your street
8. Give an hour of free mentoring
9. Give your old books or magazines to a charity shop or hospital
10. Spread the word about the campaign amongst your family, friends and colleagues
