50,000 Tonnes of Salt Expected at the Port of Cork

At least six further shipments of salt are expected into the Port of Cork between 24th December 2010 and 6th January 2011 bringing 50,000 tonnes of salt through the Port of Cork.

The first of these shipments of salt is due at the Port of Cork tomorrow. MV CFL Prospect is due to arrive at the Port of Cork’s South Jetties, Cork City Quays on Thursday 23rd December at 8am bringing 6,300 tonnes of salt to the region.

The vessel is expected to begin unloading immediately and over 100 trucks are expected at the port to help deliver the salt around the country.

The Port of Cork operates 24hrs, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, providing vital trade links for the region.
