Ireland’s newest driving experience, XLR8 offers friends, colleagues, team mates and racing enthusiasts a realistic Formula One and Rally driving experience using professional race training simulators. Sponsored by Paddy Power, the XLR8 driving experience in aid of Barnardos is coming to venues in Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Athlone, Galway, Dundalk, Naas and Sligo, with more venues to be announced. Teams and individuals can book now by calling 1890 66 55 66.
“The world’s top race drivers actually use these simulators for their training; they are as realistic as it gets,” said Wayne Douglas, XLR8 driving coach. “The tyres heat up gradually and gain more grip as they heat; it’s just like the real thing. Even selecting different weather conditions will change the driving performance.”
Participants will compete in teams of six driving on Formula One race tracks and rally circuits from all over the world. Lightning fast driver changeovers will be required with professional racing drivers on hand at every event to guide teams through the courses.
Paddy Power, Head of Communications for the bookmaker said, “Paddy Power is delighted to sponsor XLR8 for Barnardos. XLR8 is a completely professional racing experience and has all the makings of an exhilarating night out for groups of friends or even a Christmas party night. But best of all, just by participating, you will be helping the vulnerable children in Ireland that Barnardos works with.”
Ruth Guy, Barnardos Fundraising and Marketing Director said “Thanks to the generous support of Paddy Power, every cent raised will go directly to Barnardos to support the work we do with children and families all over Ireland.” Barnardos works with more than 5,500 children each year through its 40 project centres. Our target is to fundraise €50,000 through XLR8 events nationwide so we can continue to provide services to families.”
Five XLR8 events are already confirmed with additional dates nationwide to be announced shortly. For further information or to book an exciting racing experience, contact Quest Events on 1890 66 55 66 or email XLR8@questevents.ie or visit www.barnardos.ie.
