12th November 2010
As the City Centre Christmas lights are switched on this evening, Cork Chamber calls for support of local business.
Chief Executive Conor Healy said, “The Christmas lights are a vital part of the festive atmosphere in the city and in particular will create a wonderful impression in the run up to Christmas. This year in particular we want to encourage people to visit the city to do their Christmas shopping and to take advantage of the wide choice and quality on offer while soaking up the atmosphere. The Christmas period is a crucial time in the retail calendar and every effort should be made to support local business, sustain employment and retain money in the region”.
“We also encourage people to access www.christmasincork.ie to find out all that is going on in Cork this Festive Season”, stated Mr Healy.
