Trains Available from Cork & Limerick to Dublin & Return For The Munster-v-Leinster

Iarnrod Eireann is delighted to advise all Munster Rugby Supporters that trains are available from Cork and Limerick to Dublin for the Munster-v-Leinster Magner’s League game which is scheduled to be played at 19.30hrs in the new Aviva Stadium, Dublin on Saturday, 2nd October 2010.

Rugby fans can travel from Cork or Limerick to Dublin Heuston Station on any train of their choice on Saturday and return on the extra train which Iarnrod Eireann has laid on after the game. The extra train will depart Dublin Heuston Station at 23.00hrs (2nd October) and serve Thurles (00.17hrs / 3rd October), Charleville (00.58hrs / 3rd October) and Mallow (01.14hrs / 3rd October) before arriving in Kent Station, Cork at 01.43hrs.

Rugby fans planning to travel from Limerick Junction Station should note that overnight engineering works have been planned for Limerick Junction Station from 21.00hrs on Saturday night, 2nd October until 09.45hrs Sunday morning, 3rd October 2010.

As a result of these planned engineering works, the 23.00hrs Dublin-Cork train will not be serving Limerick Junction. Rugby fans planning to use Limerick Junction should therefore consider using Thurles Station or Limerick Station for their return journey. Iarnrod Eireann would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience which these essential engineering works may cause. Normal rail service will commence from Limerick Junction Station at 09.45hrs on Sunday , 3rd October 2010.

Rugby fans should note, it is essential that reservations are made on these trains and Iarnrod Eireann is asking all intending customers to purchase their rail tickets or reserve their seats on-line at WWW.IRISHRAIL.IE or through Iarnród Éireann’s Telesales number which is (021) 455-7185.

Priority will be given to customers who have booked their rail tickets on-line or through the telesales number.
