20th September 2010
“The Feel Good Do Good Challenge” is a 12 week weight loss, health and fitness programme for male and female participants. Those who take part will benefit from a personalised goal orientated programme specifically tailored for each participant. While this focus will be specific there will be a strong teamwork, motivation, support and fun content in that all participants will be required to take part in weekly exercise sessions, a change of dietary routines, and weekly body analysis. Each participant will be part of a team.
Each team will be closely monitored by one of our “Business and sports mentors”, such as the International renowned couture wedding planner Peter Kelly (Franc) and Sports writer specialist Steve Dinan of the Evening Echo who is well poised to provide inspiration to those looking to get fit having lost over 2.5 stone with the Juliet Murphy Health and Fitness Club this year. The challenge will finish with a fashion show in Cork City, and a celebration for all the participants.
Special Olympics Ireland is first and foremost a sports organization for people with an intellectual disability, but it provides athletes with far more than the physical benefits of sport.
It’s about fun, friendships and team spirit; it’s about a feeling of belonging, and ultimately improving quality of life. Special Olympics changes lives in so many different ways.
Through sport, athletes develop both physically and emotionally, they make new friends, realize their dreams, and know they can fit in – Special Olympics enables them to achieve and win not only in sport but in life too.
All funds raised during this challenge will go towards funding the year long sports programme provided by Special Olympics Munster to athletes in the Munster Region.
