Experience, skills and abilities required for this role :
A business or marketing degree
Ideally three years plus marketing experience, preferably within a membership organization
Excellent knowledge and experience of marketing activities , which include advertising, public relations, market research, direct marketing, publications, event management and social media.
Strong project management, planning, budgeting and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to think strategically about customer needs, programme design and Chamber branding and positioning.

BOX OFFICE MANAGER
Role: Box Office Manager
Duration: 5 months
Contract: €8,500 fixed contract
Time Commitment: 2-3 weeks part-time in March, 16 weeks full-time from full-time from the end of March until the first week in July.

Description: The Box Office is the centre for all ticket sales including telephone, postal, fax, web and over the counter sales. The office consists of fulltime staff, part-time staff and volunteers. The Box Office Manager will work in conjunction with other Box Office staff and with the Marketing Manager to maximise all sales opportunities, ensuring targets are reached and high standards of customer care are maintained. This position reports to the Marketing Manager and is responsible for the running of the ticketing system within the Box Office and for the Box Office staff & volunteers, as well as for any remote box office locations created before and during the Festival.
Duties/Responsibilities:
o Setting up the box office and managing the ticketing system in collaboration with the Marketing Manager- this includes setting up the Festival’s online box office in time for the programme launch in early April
o Financial management including budgeting of the box office, cash reconciliation and cash lodgements and effective reconciliation of event reports
o Recruitment, management & scheduling of Box Office Staff & Volunteers
o Ensuring an effective and friendly service is provided to customers at all times
o Setting and maintaining a highly professional attitude towards serving the public for all members of the box office team
o Working with the marketing Manager to deliver sales targets, particularly through active cross-selling of specific events
o Working with the marketing Manager on audience research and development through the analysis of box office data

Conditions of Employment

o CMF (Cork Midsummer Festival) will abide by the law (see SFA handbook) and not expect any employee’s working hours to average above 48 hours per week over a 12 month period and also aim to provide 11 hours rest within every 24 hour period
About the Festival
Cork Midsummer Festival is one of Ireland's leading international multi-disciplinary arts festivals. It is an annual festival which transforms the city of Cork every June with a programme of local, national and international events including theatre dance, music, opera, visual arts and street arts, as well as ambitious participatory projects and an extensive programme of free events.
With the appointment of new Festival Director Tom Creed, an acclaimed young Irish director, curator and producer, the Festival begins a new period of growth and ambition. DIGITAL MARKETING OFFICER
Role: Marketing Assistant with special responsibility for digital marketing
Duration: 6 months
Contract: €7,010 fixed fee
Time Commitment: 35 hours per week in February and March, full-time in April, May, June with regular evening work during the festival. 1-2 days per week in July.

Description: The Digital Marketing Officer will work with the Marketing Manager to successfully carry out the 2012 marketing campaign. She/he will be an integral member of the Festival team in their collective effort to fulfill the festival mission, and will play a key role in managing the online ‘voice’ of the Festival.
This role would suit someone interested in contemporary arts and/or digital media, with an aim to pursue a career in the arts or non-profit sector, with a focus on marketing.
This position reports to the Marketing Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
o Responsibility for the management of all Festival online channels leading up to, during and after Festival
o Uploading of content on the Festival’s website in advance of the 2012 launch, using the site’s CMS
o Creation and uploading of content for the Festival’s social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc), including the creation of targeted Facebook advertising
o Preparation of e-newsletters using CMF’s e-marketing software (Mailchimp)
o Management of CMF’s Google Adwords account to optimise the Festival’s online presence

Cork Chamber, on behalf of the Cork Entrepreneurship Steering Group (ESG) partner organisations, wishes to recruit a Project Coordinator to assist with the delivery of this remit and the implementation of the work plan. The individual appointed will be required to develop and lead a dynamic campaign in pursuit of the objectives of the ESG. The long-term objective of the ESG is to increase the rate of job creation in the Cork region and develop Cork as a hub of entrepreneurship. Knowledge of economic development issues, national and local enterprise policies, project/event management and practical experience of working as an editor/writer for online or print publications will all be advantageous.
The objectives of the Cork Entrepreneurship Steering Group are to:
• Push for Cork to become a hub of entrepreneurship and an attractive destination for foreign venture capitalists.
• Facilitate better coordination and communication between all relevant stakeholders in the area of Entrepreneurship in Cork.
• Be proactive in promoting and cultivating an entrepreneurial culture throughout the Cork region in order to increase the rate of job creation and celebrate the successes of Cork entrepreneurs.
