Science, Research & Innovation Committee

Chairman: Mr. Brendan Keane, FMC International

To consider the innovative capacity of the region’s businesses and to underline the necessity of innovation as a core element of every company’s business model.

  • Increase interest in Science & Engineering
  • Monitor progress of Science, Innovation & Technology Park
  • Enhance industry and academia collaboration
  • Encourage innovation & R&D at Enterprise level

Financial Services Working Group

Chairman: Mr. Barrie O’Connell, KPMG, (Mr. Eoin Motherway / Bank of New York)

Focus on the development and execution of a “Financial Services Strategy”, with the objective of attracting a balanced portfolio of financial services activity into the region.

  • Share regional and institutional experiences with regard to the development of the financial services sector
  • Articulate and influence the orderly development of an enhanced ecosystem for financial service companies within the region
  • Position Cork from a financial services perspective, in association with other stakeholders
  • Identify the skills sets and educational infrastructure necessary to both support and guide this industry into the future
  • Encourage the relationship between academic research and the financial services industry regionally

Fiscal Services Working Group

Chairman: Mr. Maurice Minogue, Ernst & Young, (Mr. Michael Lynch / KPMG)

Presenting Members Priorities to Government and also addressing issues which are having an impact on the business community nationally
